The Aberdeen Interfaith Group was founded on a simple yet powerful truth: when we listen to one another, we begin to understand one another. In a world that can so easily be divided by difference, we gather to celebrate the wisdom, compassion, and shared humanity found in all faiths and spiritual traditions.
This collection of interfaith stories is born from our conversations, friendships, and community events here in Aberdeen. Each story reflects a personal journey—sometimes rooted in faith, sometimes in culture, sometimes in life’s challenges and joys. Together, they weave a tapestry of voices that honour both our diversity and our common ground.
Our hope is that these stories inspire curiosity, respect, and connection. They remind us that while our paths may be many, the values of kindness, peace, and understanding unite us all. May this booklet be an invitation to keep listening, keep learning, and keep building bridges across faiths and communities.
With our events at Varapunya Meditation Centre, we believe that mindfulness is not about escaping life’s difficulties, but about meeting them with awareness, kindness, and compassion. With interfaith reflections we approach each theme from different perspectives and offer opportunities to learn from each other.
Anxiety Booklet
Anxiety is something many of us experience—whether as fleeting moments of worry or ongoing patterns of unease.
This booklet has grown out of our mindfulness events, where we gathered together in shared practice and reflection. It offers gentle insights and practical tools for working with anxiety in a mindful way. Within these pages, you will find reflections, exercises, and reminders that you are not alone in your experience.
Rather than trying to push anxiety away, we invite you to explore how mindfulness can help you pause, breathe, and respond with greater clarity and care. May this booklet be a companion on your journey toward balance, resilience, and peace.
This booklet is a collection of practices and reflections designed to help you explore mindful movement in your daily life. Each exercise is an invitation to slow down, listen inwardly, and inhabit your body with kindness and curiosity.
Whether you are standing, walking, stretching, or simply breathing, mindful movement allows you to bring meditation into action—transforming ordinary moments into opportunities for calm, clarity, and connection. We hope these practices support you in nurturing both body and mind, and in carrying the spirit of mindfulness into every step you take.
